Dr. Guzman joined The University of Arizona faculty in 1989. His research centers in affinity interaction  technology with specific emphasis in protein and metal ion separations, and in self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). Of particular interest in our research is the study, synthesis and modification of polymers, surfactants and surfaces for the development of metal-affinity separation techniques and self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) for development of selective adsorptive surfaces.
